Quantum Chemical Investigations of the Mechanisms of Carbo- and Heterocycles Assemblies Based on Acetylenes Reactions in Superbasic Media

Abstract The chemistry of acetylenes has gained significant development in the context of using superbasic media in organic synthesis. Studies of reaction mechanisms require a combination of chemical, physicochemical, and theoretical methods to be applied. The review discusses the results of recent quantum chemical studies on the mechanisms of assemblies of complex highly functionalized molecular structures based on reactions of acetylene and its derivatives in superbasic media performed at the Favorsky Irkutsk Institute of Chemistry (Siberian Branch, Russian Academy of Sciences).
