The Development and Prospects of Virtual Reality

Virtual reality is an important developing direction of simulation technology,it is system simulation of interactive three-dimensional dynamic scenes and entity behavior for a multi source data fusion. From a new viewpoint, this paper puts forward and expatiates on the evolution of history and theory form of virtual reality from voiced kite that simulate flying animal of ancient China to flight simulator of modern American which they are invented, from Artificial Reality to Virtual Reality , from three key elements (Imagination, Interaction,Behavior) to three basic character (Imagination、Interaction、Immersion,3I) which they are proposed. The attribute and meanings of VR is first put to describe with the general formula. The feature of development in the virtual reality is summarized. The results and application on military affairs, engineering, medicine and culture are farther introduced. Finally the paper prospects for the development foreground of virtual reality and hot sport of future study.
