Dearomatization [4+2] cycloaddition for constructing bridged polycyclic lactams

This study developed a metal-free catalytic system that enables the [4+2] cycloaddition reaction between isoquinolines and maleimide derivatives, allowing the one-step construction of structurally complex bridged polycyclic lactam derivatives.
