Advances in the studies of function genes for drought tolerance

Drought is an important stress factor, which destroys the normal growth of plant. There were many researches on drought tolerance. People had identified many genes which can improves the ability for drought tolerance. This is a groundwork for the research of drought tolerance ability of plant in molecule level. In recent years, more drought tolerance genes were detected and being well known by people. The ability for drought tolerance of different type plant was improved by translated these genes successfully. This article provided a summary of these function genes for drought tolerance and the activity of their applications in drought tolerance engineering.
