Protein Function | Kinetics of Enzyme Inhibition

The inhibition of enzymatic activity can be characterized with steady-state kinetics. The focus here is on molecules that inhibit enzymes in a reversible (non-covalent) manner. The three basic types of enzyme inhibition are competitive, uncompetitive, and noncompetitive. The most common types of enzyme inhibitors are dead-end inhibitors, product inhibitors, substrate inhibitors, and slow-binding inhibitors.
