Research progress in active ingredients and pharmacological effects of deer antler

Deer antler is a traditional Chinese medicine,which has complex chemical composition and pharmacological effects.In recent years,many scientists have carried out thorough research on the pharmacological effects of deer antler(enhancement of immune system,protection of nervous system,promotion of reproductive system,anti-osteoporosis effect,anti-aging effect,anti-hepatic fibrosis effect,anti-arthritis effect and other aspects).In this paper,the active ingredients and pharmacological effects of deer antler were reviewed in order to provide relevant theories for the further development and utilization of deer antlers.
