Objective To explore the feasibility and effect of electrocantery in lymph node dissection for hilar cholangiocarcinoma. Methods A retrospective analysis was performed in 21 cases of cholangiocarcinoma. All patients underwent lymphadenectomy by electrocantery. Results All operations were successfully finished without complication such as blood vessel injery. The average bleeding volume was 70 ml.Conclusion Electrocantery in lymph node dissection for hilar cholangiocarcinoma is recommendable with high safety, less blood loss, less complication, thorough lymph node dissection and good postoperative recovery, deserves to be further studied.
