A hydrocarbon degrading bacteria strain JMUXMS-100 was isolated from the oily sea water with 0# diesel oil as the sole carbon source.Through biochemical-physiological identification and sequence analysis of the 16S rDNA,the strain was identified as Acinetobacter sp.The influence of growth date, substrate concentration, the quantity of inoculation and pH on degrading ability and growth of JMUXMS-100 strain were studied. The results showed that oil degrading rate of JMUXMS-100 strain increased with the time and decreased with oil concentration. The optimal pH and temperature for the growth of the strain were 7.0 and temperature 28 ℃.After 3 days, the oil degrading rate of JMUXMS-100 strain was between 38.7 % and 57.2 % according to 100~500 mg/L oil.
