Determination of Triptolide in Tripterygium wilfordii Hook f. from different areas by HPLC

OBJECTIVE To determine the content of triptolide in Tripterygium wilfordii Hook f.by HPLC,and to study the content of triptolide in Tripterygium wilfordii from different areas.METHODS An external standard method was used with the mobile phase of acetonitrile-water(30∶ 70).The wavelength for the detection was 220nm and the flow rate was 1.0mL · min-1.RESULTS The linear range for the determination of triptolide was 0.04392μg ～ 3.5136μg(r = 0.9998).The average recovery was 98.70% and RSD was 3.27%(n = 9).The content of triptolide in Tripterygium wilfordii Hook f.from Hunan Province(Batch: B) was the highest.CONCLUSION The method is simple and accurate,and may be used in the determination of triptolide.The content of triptolide in Tripterygium Wilfordii Hook.F.from different areas varies greatly,which should be taken into account in clinic.
