Analysis of clinical application of manual leukocyte-reduced platelets

Objective:To observe the clinical infusion effect of manual leukocyte-reduced platelets,and compare with apheresis platelets ,to provide the basis for clinical how to choose manual leukocyte-reduced platelets and apheresis platelets. Method:The amounts of clinical platelets in our hospital in 2005 -2008 were calculated to understand clinical application of manual platelets and apheresis platelets. 62 manual leukocyte-reduced platelets and 67 apheresis platelets of 40 cases of patients were compared,corrected count increment (CCI),percentage platelet recovery (PPR) and clinical symptoms of bleeding were used to appraise the clinical infusion effect;Transfusion reaction rate of the manual leukocyte-reduced platelets and apheresis platelets throughout the year 2007 were calculated. Result:The differences of CCI and PPR between manual leukocyte-reduced platelets and apheresis platelets had no statistical significance. The difference of clinical infusion effect between manual leukocyte-reduced platelets and apheresis platelets was no statistical significance. The transfusion reaction rate of manual leukocyte-reduced platelets and apheresis platelets was no statistical significant difference. Conclusion:The application of manual leukocyte-reduced platelets could save large blood resources and has the same value in clinical application as apheresis platelets,so it would be worthy to be popularized.
