Zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), a subclass of metal orgamc frameworks (MOFs), possess the characteristics including tunable pores size, large frameworks diversity and high surface areas. ZIF-8 is the most studied type of ZIF owing to its exceptionally high chemical and hydrothermal stability, as well as high affinity towards small gases molecules. However, the formation of selective ZIF-8 membrane usually involved complex synthesis procedures and its reproducibility is remained a challenging issue.
