摘要
The pulsed capacitor charge power supply based on the homopolar inductor alternator (HIA) represents a highly promising solution for pulse power applications, characterized by high power output and elevated energy-storage density with significant repetition rates. To achieve a more precise evaluation of system performance, it is essential to employ a finite element method (FEM) combined with external circuit simulation. Given that HIA operates as a 3-D magnetic field motor, addressing issues related to time consumption and extensive computational resource requirements necessitates the development of an equivalent 2-D model. This article presents a comparative study of three distinct 2-D models for HIA under capacitive-rectifier load conditions and analyzes discrepancies between the parameters derived from 2-D models versus those obtained from 3-D models. The findings indicate that both$d$-axis transient inductance and transient voltage within the 2-D model exhibit considerable differences when compared to their counterparts in the 3-D model. Building upon this observation, an improved modeling approach is proposed that aligns transient inductance and transient voltage parameters with those observed in the 3-D model. The simulation and experimental results demonstrate that the improved model has broader applicability and higher simulation accuracy compared to the existing equivalent 2-D models.
