摘要
Seasonal variation in skid resistance is a frequently reported phenomenon which has been investigated by numerous researchers. Since many variables influence skid resistance measurements, the results of such investigation do not coincide and cannot be universally applied. This study reviews the sources of seasonal variations and shows the results of a study of quantification of the effect of climatic and meteorological conditions on a section of motorway in the Madrid area and on a test track in France. A discussion is included on how recent developments may offer a way to quantify and reduce the effect of environmental conditions on skid resistance measurements and to make such measurements more stable.
