AuNPs@V 2 C sensitized micro-nano fiber coupler for temperature sensing application

Abstract As an emerging family of two-dimensional materials, MXene has attracted extensive attention in recent years due to its excellent physical and chemical properties. Among them, V 2 C-MXene, a relatively new member, is still in a blank state in the application research of optical fiber sensing. This paper presents a micro-nano fiber coupler (MFC) sensitized based on a hybrid material of AuNPs and V 2 C-MXene (AuNPs@V 2 C-MFC), and applies it to temperature sensing. The experimental results show that within the temperature range of 30 °C∼90 °C, the prepared AuNPs@V 2 C-MFC sensor exhibits a temperature sensitivity of −177.43 pm °C −1 , and its sensing performance is improved by 46.59% compared with the MFC coated only with V 2 C-MXene (V 2 C-MFC). Compared with MFC that has not been coated with any sensitive materials, the improvement rate reaches 158.76%. In addition, all three sensors have a linearity as high as 0.99. This paper not only verified the excellent performance of AuNPs@V 2 C-MFC in temperature sensing, but also expanded the application prospects of V 2 C-MXene in the field of optical fiber sensing application.
