Application of Cephalosporins in our hospital from 2007 to 2009

Objective:To observe the clinic application of Cephalosporins and provide the basis for management in our hospital.Methods:The utilization of Cephalosporins in our hospital from 2007 to 2009 were analyzed statistically in types of drugs,consumption sum,DDDs and DDC,etc.Results:The consumption sum of Cephalosporins kept increasing with an annual rate of 75.56% in this three year period,the sum of third generation Cephalosporin was the most,accounting for more than 50%,and in 2009,DDDs of the second and third generation oral Cephalosporin were much higher than those in 2007.Conclusion:As the consumption sum of the third generation Cephalosporin has increased sharply,strict measures to control the Cephalosporins abuse should be carried out to reduce or delay the bacteria resistance.
