A passive location method using minimum variance distortionless response focused beamforming for an arbitrary array

The appliance of the passive location method,using Minimum Variance Distortionless Response(MVDR) focused beamforming to the planar arbitrary geometry array can well solve the problem that the liner array has difficulty in the practical usage because of its long array length.The paper first analyses the model of receive signal in the near-field based on the arbitrary geometry planar array,and deduces the manifold.Next,it applies the MVDR focused beamforming passive location method to this model and obtains a MVDR focused beamforming passive location method which is applicable to the arbitrary geometry array.Computer simulation verifies the feasibility and the effectiveness of the method proposed in the paper.
