Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is a kind of basic inorganic chemical product, which has been extensively developed in biology, chemistry, pharmacy, and environmental protection. H2O2 is mainly produced by the energy-wasting and environmentally-harmful anthraquinone process in industry. Photocatalyic synthesis of H2O2 by utilizing solar energy, water and O2 can reduce the production cost and the environment pollution, therefore has brought a hot-spot of research. In this review, we summarize the recent research advances in synthesizing and modificating polymer carbon nitride-based photocatalysts, and their applications in the photosynthesis of H2O2. The current challenges and opportunities of the polymer carbon nitride-based photocatalysts for the photosynthesis of H2O2 are also discussed.
