They found adjusted prevalence rates of primary aldosteronism ranging from 16% to 22%. When a urinary aldosterone excretion cutoff of greater than 10 µg/24 h was used and the analysis was restricted to patients with suppressed plasma renin levels, these prevalence rates ranged from 27% to 58%.
