Finite element analysis of 3D seismic responses of unanchored liquid storage tanks

Aiming at the unanchored storage tanks,considering the interaction between foundation and tank structure,and the coupling of liquid-tank wall,the numerical analysis of the three-dimensional seismic response is made with the help of the finite element method.The results show that the acceleration,lifting,axial stresses,the base shear force and the base bending moment of the tank under three-dimensional seismic rground motion is greater than that under one-dimensional horizontal seismic ground motion.
