Guest Editorial: Time to reflect on new evidence about periodontal regenerative surgery of intrabony defects

Abstract This editorial provides a summary of new evidence derived from four recent systematic reviews on regenerative/reconstructive periodontal surgery recently published in the Journal of Clinical Periodontology. We hereby discuss how the results of these papers combined can be useful for the clinical periodontist, in the light of the recent European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) guidelines, and for researcher involved in this field of investigation.
