The clinical observation of dry eye after laser in situ keratomileusis

Objective To evaluate the symptoms and corresponding indexes of dry eye after laser in situ keratomileusis (Lasik)in myopic eyes.Methods Ninety six myopic eyes were performed Lasik.The eyes were observed for subjective complaints of dry eye,fluorescein staining(FI),Schirmer'sⅠtest,tear break-up time(BUT)preoperatively and 1 week,1 month,2 months,3 months postoperatively.Results The subjective complaints of dry eye were more severe after the operation.FI staining dots were more concentrated at 1 week postoperatively.There were obvious decreases in BUT at 1 week,1 month and 2 months postoperatively relative to the preoperative level.The Schirmer' sⅠtest result was lower at 1 week,1 month and 2 months after Lasik.Conclusions Dry eye is common after Lasik in myopic eyes.It's necessary to get some preventive and therapeutic methods to reduce the hurt.
