Clinical Analysis of Relationship between Hyperlipidemia and Alcoholic Acute Pancreatitis

Objective To study the impact of hyperlipidemia on the alcoholic acute pancreatitis.Methods Sixty-nine patients with alcoholic acute pancreatitis were enrolled into this study.The patients were divided into two groups according to the times of attack (1) single attack group (SA): only one time of attack;(2) recurrent attack group (RA): two or more attacks,into another two groups according to the illness severity (1) mild alcoholic acute pancreatitis (MAAP);(2) severe alcoholic acute pancreatitis (SAAP).The clinical characteristics of the patients with or without hyperlipidemia were analyzed.Results The patients either with BMI≥25 or with hyperlipidemia were significantly more in the RA group than that in SA group (P=0.000).There were significant differences in the recurrent rate of AAP and SAAP between patients with hyperlioidemia and patients without hyperlipidemia.(P0.05).Conclusion Hyperlipidemia could promote the recurrence and worsen the severity of the alcoholic acute pancreatitis.
