During an offshore platform's service period, the changes in its ambient environment and hydrodynamic condition make considerable changes to the initial submarine topographic condition in the platform sea area, which will undoubtedly affect the dynamic response of offshore platform. Based on the observed data and the numerical computation, a case study on an offshore platform in the Chengdao oil field area was made to analyze the effect of submarine topography variation on dynamic characteristics of offshore platform; and the study results can be used for reference in designing and constructing the future platforms in the sea area.
