Review of development of de-icing methods on transmission lines

Ice accumulation on transmission lines may result in damage to power system.Many studies about de-icing were undertaken.A summarization of de-icing methods was made,including thermal methods,mechanical methods and building special cables.The feasibility of the methods considering the situation of china was analyzed.At last,the disadvantages of these means were summarized,the development trend and the research direction were pointed out.
