The design of flue gas ducts in a coal-fired power plant usually determines the flow field uniformity, which has a great effect on the efficiency of the downstream electrostatic precipitator. Referring to standard scheme and the CE-scheme inner supports usually used in power plants, gas pressure and velocity distribution of electrostatic precipitator inflow duct were studied by computational flow dynamic(CFD). The validation of the numerical simulation model was verified by comparing the empirical results with the simulation results of pressure loss in a duct bend without inner supports. Under the same condition, the ducts with inner supports of Standard scheme and the CE-scheme were simulated. By comparing pressure loss, pressure distribution and velocity distribution, it is found that the standard scheme performs better than the CE-scheme.
