Understanding and explanation on guidelines of the diagnosis and treatment in the non-alcoholic fatty liver disease

With the increasing of obesity and diabetes,fatty liver disease has become one of the most common etiologies of chronic liver disease worldwide.It can be classified as either alcoholic or nonalcoholic fatty liver disease.Recently,prospective studies have reported that NAFLD is related with the metabolic syndrome(MS),obesity,type 2 diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular disease.In China,evidence-based guidelines of the diagnosis and treatment in NAFLD were formulated by Chinese Medical Association in 2006 and 2010,and they reflect the status of diagnosis and treatment more wide and complete.Compared with some international guidelines or recommendations,there is significant difference in evaluation and treatment.
