Methylene blue photodynamic therapy of antifungal-unresponsive (resistant) dermatophytosis

This study was an exploratory, single-centre, open-label, uncontrolled investigation of methylene blue photodynamic therapy (MB-PDT) for the treatment of antifungal-resistant dermatophytosis. One-third of participants with antifungal-resistant dermatophytosis responded to two sessions of MB-PDT therapy. The small sample size and limited number of treatment sessions were possibly insufficient to investigate the true potential of this approach.
