Research on the fire-extinguishing effectiveness of a new nano-scale aerogel fire-extinguishing agent

Aerogel fire extinguishing agent is a new fire extinguishing agent with a special mechanism of foaming after encountering heat. In order to reveal the high-efficiency fire-extinguishing properties of the new nano-scale aerogel fire-extinguishing agent, the fire-extinguishing performance of aerogel fire-extinguishing agents and traditional fire-extinguishing agents was compared. In this paper, aerogel fire extinguishing agent was prepared, and aerogel fire extinguishing agent, ammonium phosphate dry powder fire extinguishing agent, and water-based fire extinguishing agent were used to carry out fire extinguishing experiments of Class A standard fire and Class B standard fire, and the flame retardant properties of aerogel extinguishing agent was discussed. The fire extinguishing effectiveness of aerogel fire extinguishing agents was compared by analyzing the temperature drop rate, fire extinguishing time, dosage of chemical agent, and cooling rate of thermal radiation value. The experimental results showed that both the aerogel fire extinguishing agent and the water-based fire extinguishing agent can effectively extinguish the 1A-level wood stack fire. However, by comparing the fire extinguishing time and cooling rate, it was found that the aerogel fire extinguishing agent has better extinguishing performance; The gel fire extinguishing agent had the fastest flame cooling, the least amount of agent, and the shortest fire extinguishing time. Aerogel fire extinguishing agent could quickly extinguish 13B class gasoline fire with the amount of only 0.68 kg, with only 11 s, while water system fire extinguishing agent and ammonium phosphate dry powder could not successfully control the fire at 3.78 kg and 5.28 kg; flame retardant experiment showed that aerogel fire extinguishing agent has certain flame retardant effect.
