Adsorption of benzene from air and aqueous systems by several non-polystyrene hypercrosslinked resins was firstly studied in terms of batch and dynamic tests. The results showed that the equilibrium adsorption and breakthrough adsorption capacity of CMB-CMB-XDC resin were up to 874.6mg/g and 41.59mg/g in the aqueous(C0=1722.6mg/L) and air system(C0=181.4mg/m3),respectively.The adsorption capacity for benzene floating on the water could reach above 4360mg/g in 3 minutes. The novel adsorptive resins exhibited high adsorption capacity, rapid adsorption rate and fine recycle operation property, and could be potentially applied in the treatment of the waste gas and solution containing non-polar aryl compounds.
