Objective To survey the status in use of antibiotics in surgical patients during perioperative period.Methods The medical records of 180 surgical patients discharged in 2006 were randomly sampled and the use of antibitotics during perioperative period was retrospectively analysized.Results There antibiotics was used by 98.3%(177/180) of the patients c during perioperative period including 117(66.1%) patients used antibiotics for prophylaxis and 60(33.9%) patients were given antibiotics for treatment.The most frequently used antibiotic was cephalosporins(69.5%),followed by quinolones(58.2%),aminoglycoside(39%) and metronidazol(30.5%).139(78.5%) patients were given more than two kinds of antibiotics and 79(44.6%) patients used more than 3 kinds of antibiotics.Conclusion The use of antibiotics in surgical patients during perioperative period was reasonable on the whole.Thus effective measures be taken for ensuring reasonable use of antibiotics.
