Two years' follow-up study of laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding:with a report of 23 cases

Objective:To explore the 2 years' follow-up of laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding for obesity.Methods:The weight loss and change of postoperative obesity complications of 23 patients who underwent laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding were observed and summarized.Results:The weight loss was 28-102kg,mean 46kg.The extra weight loss was 64%.Preoperative obesity complications such as hyperlipoidemia,diabetes,hypertension and so on were obviously improved in 20 cases.Postoperative complications occurred in 2 cases,and were cured after treatment.There was no death case.Conclusions:Laparoscopic adjustable gastric banding is a feasible treatment for obesity and complications caused by obesity,which is proved by follow-up study.
