Nitric Oxide (NO)—A New Regulator in Plant Development

Nitric oxide(NO) is a kind of most important bioactive molecule in plant.A great deal of evidence shows that plant can produce NO by the enzymatic and the nonenzymatic pathways.It is involved in many processes of plant development,such as seed germination,leaf expansion,root growth,lateral roots instillation,inhibition of hypocotyls elongation,apoptosis,and resistance to adverse environments.This article focuses on the role of NO in plant development.
