The flanked sequences containing d(CCC) on the core sequence of parallel G-quadruplexes improve the binding affinity of hemin to G-quadruplexes, thereby remarkably enhancing the activity of G-quadruplex/hemin DNAzyme and the hemin degradation by H2O2, as well as increasing the tolerance of DNAzyme to pH change.
