Rayleigh Scattering Losses in Soda Borosilicate Glasses

The present writers predicted that Rayleigh scattering losses in some soda borosilicate glasses would be less than in pure vitreous silica. The simple heuristic arguments that lead to this prediction and the scattering loss measurements which appear to confirm it are presented.
