Clinical analysis of 36 patients with gastrointestinal stromal tumors

Objective To summarize the clinical characteristics,diagnosis and treatment of gastrointestinal stromal tumor(GIST).Methods The clinical and pathologic data of 36 GIST patients who had been pathologically proved were retrospectively analyzed.Results In the 36 patients 20 had benign GIST,10 had junctional GIST,6 had malignant GIST.Thirty patients were followed up for 2-3 years,2 died of tumor recurrence and metastasis,1 received reoperation 28 months after relapse.Conclusions The preoperative diagnosis of GIST is reletively difficult,and a definite diagnosis of GIST depends on pathological examination.Radical surgery is the best treatment for GIST,and molecular targeted therapy has a supplementary effect.
