Electronic components and systems are essential for most equipments and systems today, and their reliability is critical for system reliability. There has been a growing interest in monitoring the ongoing health conditions of components and systems in order to predict failures and provide warnings to avoid catastrophic failures. In this paper, the theory and methodology of the Prognostics and Health Management(PHM) for electronics reliability prediction were presented. The main PHM implementation approaches such as prognostic cell, failure precursors monitoring and life consumption monitoring are discussed in detail.
