A series of nickel catalysts were prepared and their catalytic performances for methanation of syngas to methane were evaluated experimentally.The results showed that the catalysts with NiO mass loading above 20% had high activity at high temperature and space velocity.Adding Mg and La to the Al2O3-supported nickel catalysts could enhance their activity and stability.When packing a two stage reactor with NiOLa2O3MgO/Al2O3 catalysts(wNiO=24%),average conversion of CO and H2 reached 99.97% and 99.83%,respectively,average selectivity of CH4 was up to 98.44%,and the activity of the catalyst remained stable during the 1000 hour test.
