Pickling Technology for Ultrathin Stainless Steel Screwing Tubes

The pickling technology for the stainless steel screwing tubes of a wall thickness below 0.3 mm was improved so as to increase the quality of the acid washed surfaces and simplify the working procedures. Thus the pickling and high pressure washing were used to replace the conventional complex processes composed of scale loosening, pre pickling, pickling, and residue removal. The key to the modified pickling process lay in that two surfactants were introduced in the pickling solution to significantly increase the pickling rate and pickling quality. It was verified by the production practice for a duration over half a year that the production efficiency for the modified pickling process was over 4 times as much as that of the conventional process. Besides, the modified pickling process had simplified operation, increased bath stability, convenience to adjustment, high quality of the products, and zero waster.
