Relationship between selenium and hematologic markers in overweight and anemic patients

Anemia is a widespread polyethological disease, one of the possible causes of which is chronic inflammation. In addition, selenium deficiency is also often detected in patients with anemia. In the study, we studied the effect of selenium on iron status in young men with anemia and overweight (since obesity is often associated with chronic inflammation) and the expediency of its use in real clinical practice. The obtained results of treatment of two groups of patients with anemia and overweight who received iron monotherapy and combined therapy with iron and selenium showed that biomarkers of iron status significantly improved with combined treatment with SELENBIO for women than with iron monotherapy (p<0.05).
