The results show that turnover frequencies for n-butane and isobutane on both catalysts went through minima at 150/sup 0/-200/sup 0/C reduction temperature; and that the silica-supported but not the alumina-supported catalysts exhibited somewhat structure-sensitive behavior, i.e., the turnover number for n-butane formation and for isobutane formation and the selectivity (ratio of isobutane to butane activity) increased with increasing percentage of exposed platinum.
