Sesquiterpenoids from the flower of Chrysanthemum indicum L. and their anti-lung cancer cytotoxic activity

Chryejuindion A (1) and B (2), two undescribed sesquiterpenoids were separated from the flower of Chrysanthemum indicum L., as well as six known ones were identified as chrysanthemumin A (3), chrysanthemumin B (4), chrysanthemumin E (5), chrysanthemdiol A (6), respectively. Biologically, compound 1 showed significant cytotoxicity against lung cancer cells (A549, H1299 and Calu-1) with IC₅₀ values from 0.84 ± 0.47 to 1.39 ± 0.75 μM.
