Nondestructive testing in high temperature environments such as nuclear power plants and various plants is important for safety and economic improvement. In principle, ultrasonic flaw detection using an electromagnetic acoustic transducer (EMAT) needs to install the EM-coil close to the surface of the specimen to be inspected. Therefore, it is susceptible to thermal and mechanical damage. In this research, we will consider EMAT which is suitable for high temperature environment, more mechanically and thermally durable structure by using EM-coil with iron core. In the presentation, we report the results of using a new EMAT system for Lamb wave.
