Working Fluid Selection of Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC)for Low and Medium Grade Heat Source Utilization

Working fluid has a big influence on the safety,environmental protection,economy and high efficiency of Organic Rankine Cycle(ORC).Firstly,this paper studied the thermodynamic,physical,chemical,environmental,safety and economic properties of 61 working fluids,and picked out 11 working fluids which met the above properties.Then,the paper studied the isentropic,saturated properties and thermal efficiency of the 11 working fluids,and identified 8 potential working fluids which are R290,R600,R600a,R507A,R134a,Isopentane,n-Pentane and R404A.In the end,the paper analysed the applicable condition of the 8 potential working fluids.
