Color Measurement and Analysis of Yellow Jadeite

Based on the colorimetry principle,yellow jadeite has been measured and analized by USB2000+fiber optic pspectrometer of American Ocean Optics.The color parameter index of the yellow jadeite including its CIE1931 chromaticity coordinates,dominant wavelength,chroma,lightness and CIE1931 chromaticity diagram have been quantized.The dominant hue of the yellow jadeite can be distinguished by its dominant wavelength and hue angle.The experiment result proves that the color of the jadeite can be objectively and quantitatively described by using fiber optic pspectrometer,adequate illumination and appropriate spectrum sampling method along with the colorimetry principle.This method will be an appropriate technique for yellow jadeite color evaluation.
