摘要
Bioimpedance measurements from localized tissues are being actively investigated as a method to monitor and quantify changes within these tissues. In this work, biceps tissue bioimpedance of 6 participants was collected from the left and right biceps at 6 timepoints before/after an eccentric exercise fatiguing protocol (1 immediately prior and 5 post). Comparing the pre/post measurements of the fatiguing arm, the mean participant changes displayed a decrease in 10 kHz resistance, an increase in bicep circumference, and an increase in self-reports of pain that reached their maximum changes 72-96 hours post-exercise. At the same measurement timepoints, the mean changes of the non-fatigued arms for the participants showed a much smaller magnitude of changes, supporting that the observed changes in resistance and swelling were a result of the exercise protocol and not natural variations due to daily living.
