Socio-Technical Approach to a Research of Information Economy

The article is devoted to the digital transformation of the economy and the necessity in existence of a profiled science-based statistical methodology in this area, due to the high relevance of the problems deal with quantitative assessment and analysis of the information and communication technologies effectiveness. The problems associated with the adaptation of the existing methodological “reserve” to the Russian statistical realities seem to be an urgent and promising direction of scientific research, leading both to the expansion of the theoretical basis and to obtaining practically significant results. The scientific novelty of the approach is to solve the fundamental problem associated with the scientific methodological development on quantitative evaluation of complex socio-technical systems interaction in the conditions of digital economy transformation and the formation of common information area. In this regard, the article presents the results of forming the information base and the system development of statistical indicators in social processes interaction within common information area; describes the integrated indicators, namely the Common index of infrastructure development in the information society and the Index of information economy.
