Influencing Factors in Dynamic Shear Rheometer Tests

The dynamic shear rheometer has been used to measure the middle and high temperature performance of the asphalt binders in the US SHRP, and the results precision is very important to the asphalt PG grade. But in the course of test, some limits are often ignored and this causes serious ill influence. This paper discusses the test principle, limitations, temperature influence, choice of the parallel plates and height control in order to give the proper guidance of the asphalt DSR test.
