Using sodium carbonate and ammonium bicarbonate as desulfurizing conversion agent respectively,the desulfurization of lead paste from waste lead-acid batteries is studied in this paper by orthogonal experimental design.The results showed that the sodium carbonate is more efficient in desulfurizing conversion agent than ammonium bicarbonate.When sodium carbonate is used as a desulfurizer,the influence of different facts on desulfurization rate weakened as the following order: conversion agent concentrationpulp concentration reaction time reaction temperature.When ammonium bicarbonate is used as desulfurizer,the influence of different facts on desulfurization rate weakened as the following order: pulp concentration conversion agent concentration reaction time temperature.The highest desulfurization rates of 99.99% is obtained for sodium carbonate when conversion agent concentration is 1.79 mol/L,reaction temperature 80 ℃,reaction time 60 min,pulp concentration 10%.And,under the same conditions the highest desulfurization rates for ammonium bicarbonate is 99.27%.
