Ultrasonographic, gastroscopic and histologic report of a mass‐like lesion in the stomach of a dog: Chronic lymphoplasmacytic and hyperplastic gastritis

Abstract A 7‐year‐old Boomer dog was presented with chronic vomiting over the past 6 months. Ultrasonography showed a severely thickened gastric wall with the aspect of a nodular mass. Gastroscopy confirmed a nodular mass. Histopathology of gastroscopically taken biopsies revealed chronic lymphoplasmacytic gastritis. The mass‐like lesion was surgically resected and full‐thickness histopathology confirmed chronic hyperplastic gastritis. The mucous cells of the foveolae were proliferated. The dog recovered after chronic lymphoplasmacytic and hyperplastic gastritis treatment. Chronic lymphoplasmacytic and hyperplastic gastritis should be included as a differential diagnosis for gastric nodular masses.
