Convenient synthesis of 2-chloro-3-substituted quinoxalines by visible-light-induced radical cascade cyclization of ortho-diisocyanoarenes with sulfinic acids

A visible-light-induced radical cascade cyclization of ortho -diisocyanoarenes (1) to 2-chloro-3-substituted quinoxalines (3) has been reported. This novel method does not require the use of hazardous or metal-containing reagents or high temperatures.
